Capital Management Services joins ECMC’s Spring Gala to strengthen communities through service

When an organization’s values are rooted in service, its actions speak louder than words. This spring, Capital Management Services (CMS) demonstrated its commitment to being part of the community by supporting the Erie County Medical Center (ECMC) at its annual Spring Gala. Representing CMS at the event were Stanley Moore, President of Operations, and Larry Costa, President of CMS, who joined more than 1,500 attendees in raising millions of dollars for the largest public hospital in Western New York.

ECMC: A Lifeline for Western New York

ECMC is more than just a hospital, it’s a lifeline for thousands of residents who rely on its services. Many ECMC patients are either uninsured or receive coverage through Medicaid, and the care they receive often depends on the generosity of donors and community partners. The funds raised during the Spring Gala support critical services, research, and life-saving resources that benefit the most vulnerable populations in the region.

CMS’s Commitment to Community Service

“Our support of ECMC reflects our core belief that healthy communities create the foundation for a healthy economy,” said Larry Costa. “When we invest in institutions that care for people at their most vulnerable, we’re not just giving back but also showing up for our neighbors.”

For CMS, community engagement isn’t a checklist item, it’s embedded in how the company operates. Supporting ECMC is one way CMS puts its values into practice by contributing to the health and well-being of the people and places that surround its business.

Why Community Engagement Matters

The receivables industry often operates behind the scenes, but with changing times, businesses in this sector are coming to the forefront and serving as a force for good and going beyond transactional relationships. Community involvement is one such aspect that highlights the essential role financial services firms play in social infrastructure.

By engaging with ECMC, CMS showcases how receivables professionals can advocate for local health, resilience, and inclusion. These values are aligned with Receivables Management Association International (RMAI)’s broader mission of ethical practices and public service.

“Community engagement isn’t an accessory to our work—it’s essential to it,” Costa added.

Looking Ahead: A Shared Responsibility

CMS’s participation in the ECMC Spring Gala is one of many efforts that reflect its broader corporate social responsibility goals. Whether it’s supporting public healthcare or volunteering locally, CMS continues to lead by example in showing how the receivables industry can contribute meaningfully to society.
