What information must a debt collector provide?
Under federal law, we are required to inform you of: The name of the current creditor The amount of the debt Your right to dispute the debt in writing Your right to request the name and address of the original creditor (if different) We typically send this in writing within five days of our first communication.
How do I dispute a debt?
You have the right to dispute a debt within 30 days of receiving our initial communication. Your dispute should be submitted in writing to ensure we respond with account verification. Email us at [email protected] or mail your dispute to our Buffalo office. We recommend sending your dispute by certified mail or fax with a confirmation receipt.
